Using EFT (Tapping) to Support Your Therapy Practice

Have you heard of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or tapping to support your therapy practice? I have been a fan for about ten years now, and use it every day to support me in my practice. I liked it so much that I trained to become a practitioner, and received my AAMET Level 2 Certificate about 5 years ago.

What is tapping?

In its basic form, tapping is a very simple technique to learn and use. It  involves tapping with your fingers on acupuncture meridian points on the head and upper body, while speaking about the topic at hand. It is used for a wide variety of issues, from pain relief, to stress relief to PTSD and more.

I use tapping in my work with therapists through This Business of Therapy.

Where can I learn more about it?

If you’re new to EFT, you can read more about it here. Together with my friend and colleague, Barbara Belmont, I created a presentation, in which I introduce tapping, and describe how you can use it as a tool to support your therapy practice. You can listen to this recording here.

I have also created some videos on using EFT to support your therapy practice. Click here for details.

Does it work?

Yes, it really does. But don’t just take my word for it! Here’s what others have said: (you might recognise a few names…)
